Diane Rains has been an enthralled observer of animal behavior all her life. She has studied, worked with and cared for many species in a potpourri of jobs and educational settings over the years. Every animal she meets is a source of fascination, whether it be mouse or leopard, sparrow or eagle, chicken or dog.
Diane has the knowledge and background to view animal behavior with the objectivity of a scientist, and she uses this approach when appropriate. But its the partnership of human and animal that really interests her the pleasure of teaching (and learning from!) an animal in a respectful, mutually enjoyed interchange.
And the creative wheels are always turning! For, though Diane started out in science, she ended up in theatre. Puppet theatre, to be exact. There her work with animals took a new direction. She and her husband, Stu Janis, trained a little dog to perform in a little puppet show, and found animal and puppet behavior to be very compatible indeed. Its a new genre of live entertainment! True North Training Group is there!
